Flapjack Recipe
Oats are my new favourite ingredient.
Now I have got into the habit I love having porridge in the morning with fresh and dried fruit. It doesn’t even matter if we’ve forgotten to get milk in as it’s just as nice with water
Anyway, I made some lovely flapjacks and cookies for Sunday afternoon tea yesterday and they are delicious as well as so easy and quick to make.
Flapjack
- 75g Butter
- 75g Soft brown sugar (pretty much any is fine though. I just mixed up what I had!)
- 2-3 Tbsp golden syrup
- 150g oats
Preheat the over to 180ºC/160ºc (fan) Melt the butter, sugar and syrup over a lowish heat, making sure you don’t burn the mixture.
When it is melted and combined add the oats gradually making sure they are fully coated.
Empty the mixture into a greased tin and place in the oven for 15-20 minutes.
The flapjack will not be crispy until it’s cooled so it’s best to cut it into squares when it first comes out of the oven (that’s if you’re patient enough to let it cool – I just eat it all gooey and hot!)
