Fowl Play

7 Apr

One of the joys of my job is its variety. From day to day I can be called upon to photocopy and collate hundreds of letters, deal with difficult or upset people in person or on the phone, and even chase escaped farm animals. Yes you heard me correctly. We have an escaped cockerel running around our car park and we’re trying to catch it. Cue much hilarity.

I’ve spent the morning on the phone to various animal welfare agencies and as none can help right away we are trying to catch it so a fox/ car doesn’t first. I’ve borrowed a box from the vets and hope to entice it in (running / herding it didn’t work! I think we were laughing too much!).

I don’t know if it was dumped here but apparently it’s a show bird worth about £300 so someone must be missing it. I’ll update you later. I love days like this!

I’m sure with your experience of pheasant you could cook up a treat with a £300 bird!
