New Growth

3 Feb

Hey, Auntie – you know the Amaryllis you gave us for Christmas?

We planted it ages ago but thought that our house was too cold for it to grow as it was taking so long to sprout and we don’t have an airing cupboard or anything.

But, the other day we noticed it had turned faintly green.

Then a tiny sprout began to push out of the bulb.

And now it’s growing several millimetres each day!

So exciting! It’s a great present!

That’s really cool! How much light and water does that thing need? If it’s not high maintenance, maybe I can get one. 🙂

I once bought one of these for my brother for xmas – and it flowered right on time, on his birthday on 7th March! They are amazing aren’t they? So much life from just that one bulb!

YAY! It’s cool! Last week I planted some tulips in a flowerpot… But I think I’ll have to wait a little more time to see them grow… Sigh. Patience.
